Keynote Speakers

Prof. Stephen Daniels was until very recently Professor of Cultural Geography, and Director of the AHRC Landscape and Environment programme at the University of Nottingham. A fellow of the British Academy, he is a specialist of the history of landscape representation, design and management; of the landscape arts of eighteenth century Britain; as well as of the history of geographical knowledge and imagination. Professor Daniels has written extensively on landscapes and environments. He is co-author of Art of the Garden: The Garden in British Art, 1800 to the Present Day (2004), and published "Until the end of days: narrating landscape and environment" in Cultural Geographies (January 2012).

Paul Cureton is a Senior Lecturer in Architecture and Unit Leader for Future Cities at the University of Hertfordshire, UK, Member of the Herts UAV Group, Researcher for the International Garden Cities Institute and Researcher for HS2LV at Birmingham City University, UK. He holds a PhD in Landscape Architecture Representation from the Manchester School of Architecture, UK. Primary research interests include digital and analogue interfaces GIS, UAVs, mapping, modelling and digital fabrication. Recent publications include the monograph Strategies for Landscape Representation: digital and analogue techniques (Routledge 2016) and co-authored governmental working paper ‘A Visual History of the Future’ (Foresight, BIS 2014).
